iStudent Browser (Beta)

Thursday, May 4th, 2006

The iStudent Browser is a tool to allow teachers to specify what Internet Web resources they want their students to view. Essentially this is a custom web browser without the ability of the students to enter a web address. The student only is allowed to select from a list of web resources that the teacher has created. The teacher does this one time from the Teacher Client application, and then the students can access those resources from any computer connected to the Internet that has a copy of the iStudent Browser client application.

This is the first version of the application. It appears to be working on Windows XP computers fine. A Apple Macintosh version will be released shortly.

Remember, this is a beta release, and the final version will appear much more polished…hopefully :-)

In order to use the iStudent Browser, you will need to email me,, so that I can create an account for you.

Let me know if you have any problems or need some help.

Bowdoin College Music Archives Go Online

Thursday, May 4th, 2006

The Bowdoin College Music Department is searching through all their recorded music archives to find quality music to release for free, legally. They’ve launched their music archive as a podcast feed within the iTunes Music Store and via RSS. Recent tracks include their 2006 Mozart’s Birthday Faculty Concert as well as tracks from some of their commercially produced CDs.
