Lightworks is an Academy and Emmy award winning professional-grade editor with over 20 years of history in the film and broadcast industry. It is OpenSource and free for anybody to download and use. Currently it is only available for Windows. Mac OSX and Linux support is scheduled for late 2011.

With impending demise of DimDim, many people are looking for an alternative for voice, video and screen sharing synchronous conferencing capabilities. Big Blue Button is a possible solution and they now have a plug in to embed their system as an activity in Moodle 2.0.
This Google Labs project allows you to take terms and search for them in the gigantic database of scanned books that Google has created. For example, if you took the words: nursery school, kindergarten, and child care and searched for them within nGram your resulting graph would be three lines representing the frequency of those three words over time from 1950 until 2000.
This could be a useful tool to generate data (graphs) and discussions as to what the data may mean within a classroom setting.

This site is a Google Labs project and I’ve heard it described as the Google Earth for the human body. This site could be useful when studying systems of the body in science classrooms. This site requires a web browser that is capable of displaying HTML5 standards. Google’s Chrome browser would be a good one to use to view this resource.
