Microsoft Mouse Mischief

I know, it sounds like some kind of Windows virus. It’s not. It’s a software tool Microsoft developed that provides some of the same functionality that Clickers or classroom response systems provide in the classroom. It uses wireless mice ($24) and USB hubs (4-7 Port hubs approximately $32 each). It may not provide that exact functionality of a dedicated classroom response system, but you may have some of the pieces laying unused around your campus right now. Why not put them to use?

Apple is providing a series of one hour online workshops regarding the use of iPads, iTouches, and iPhones in the classroom. These are offered at 9:00 am, but with some of you going on summer break, this might be a resource worth looking into if you’re interested in iPad, etc.

Nice tool for education, and recently awarded a National Science Foundation NSF grant. This tool is free for educators. Scrible will allow you to save webpages for later use, annotate web pages right in the browser, organize and save resources with tags, legends and search. You can access your resources and notes from any networked computer. Your work is saved in the “cloud.”
